And a very particular landscape, on the outskirts of industrial Manchester, is brought vividly to life.
Description
Mary and her father live in a time when stone cutting was the main trade. One day she requests a book from her father and he shows her the true meaning of books - he builds her one out of stone. He doesn't believe in schooling or books - believing they are a waste of money as you don't get anything from them.
