The piano concerto is based entirely on material selected from Michael Nyman's soundtrack for the film "The piano". MGV (Musique à grande vitesse) was commissioned by the Festival de Lille for the inauguration of the TGV North-European line).

Disc two consists of short works or excerpts from longer ones by British and American composers all of which had received their first performances within the 5 years preceding the release of this disc.
