Description
Consists of two letters, one undated, the second dated Aug. 29, 1860. M. Whitman asks Brooks in the first letter about the requirements for a legal Congregational ordination in the state of Massachusetts; Brooks replies in the letter of Aug. 29. The correspondence cannot be connected to events in the First Parish, the Trinitarian Congregational Church, or the First Universalist Society in Concord. It is unclear whether M. Whitman, who cannot be found in the vital records of Concord or of surrounding towns, was a Concord person.
